She made her first film appearance by playing the role of Baban in 2003 drama thriller film, Escape from Taliban, which starred Manisha Koirala and Nawab Shah.

Pooja Banerjee appeared as a contestant on the 8th season of the youth-based reality show, MTV Roadies, in 2011.

From 2015 to 2016, she brought to life the character of Rewa Mathur, a young aspiring swimmer who struggles against her family and mother’s unwillingness to allow her to swim, in the television series, Swim Team.

She also appeared in the music video of the song Aap Se Mausiiquii by Himesh Reshammiya in 2016.

As a swimmer, Pooja Banerjee has represented Maharashtra at the national level swimming tournaments as well as swam the 5 km sea race at the Arabian Sea and 14 km river race at river Hooghly.

In 2018, she started playing the role of Nivedita Basu, Mohini and Moloy’s daughter and Rakhi, Anurag, and Tapur’s sister, in the drama television series, Kasautii Zindagii Kay. The show was produced by Ekta Kapoor and starred Parth Samthaan, Erica Fernandes, Hina Khan, Karan Singh Grover, Aamna Sharif, and Karan Patel.
